Shop velvet fabric by the metre from our Birmingham warehouse. We stock soft crushed velvet with a slight one-way stretch for dresses, costumes and theatre wear, heavyweight plush velvet for curtains, cushions, headboards and upholstery, cotton velvet for traditional costumes, and velvet flock taffeta and voile with raised velvet patterns.
Which velvet do I need? For clothing choose crushed velvet or triple velvet, which drape well and are easy to sew. For sofas, chairs and curtains choose plush velvet, which is thicker and more hard-wearing. For party dresses and décor, velvet flock gives a rich patterned look at a lower price.
